What should I bring to my first appointment?We are looking forward to meeting you! Please bring your GP referral as well as any results you have for this pregnancy. Please also have your Medicare card and Health Fund information with you (digital or physical is fine). Finally, please bring any questions you have and make sure you ask them! Some patients find it helpful to write these down ahead of time and bring their list with them.

What are your fees?As this is a private practice, there will be a consultation fee for each appointment, as well as a pregnancy management fee (paid at 28 weeks). Please contact our office directly for a full fee schedule.

Where can I park?North Sydney Rooms If your appointment is scheduled in the North Sydney rooms, there is plenty of street parking available on the Pacific Highway (metered, outside peak times), Berry Street (metered) and Edward Street (some unmetered). We are also a short 5 minute walk from the Victoria Cross Metro Station or a 10 minute walk from North Sydney Station. Macquarie Street (CBD) Rooms Our Macquarie Street office is convenient for patients coming straight from, and returning straight to work. There is no nearby parking and if you are travelling from outside the CBD we recommend you travel by public transport. The office is within short walking distance of Martin Place Station.

How often will my visits be?Your first appointment will take place when you are around 8-10 weeks along. From there, you will have appointments on the following schedule: Every 4 weeks until 30 weeks Fortnightly until 36 weeks Weekly until the big day If you ever have concerns outside the typical schedule, you are always welcome to come in for a quick check.

Can I bring my partner/child/parent/sibling/friend to my appointment with me?Yes! We do ask you limit guests to 2-3 so we can fit everybody. But we would love to meet your loved ones and have them share in this special time with you.

Do I need a GP referral?Yes. Your GP referral contains important medical information Dr Burnet requires to look after you. Additionally, without a referral, you are not eligible for any Medicare rebates.

I think I might be pregnant, what should I do?Congratulations! Please book an appointment with your GP. They will usually request preliminary tests and write a referral for you to see an obstetrician. Your first appointment with us will be at about 8-10 weeks.

Can I bring someone to my appointment with me?Of course. We understand you might be nervous! Please feel free to bring a support person with you. They are welcome to sit in the waiting room or go into your appointment with you. This is your choice!

What are your fees?As this is a private practice, there will be a consultation fee for each appointment. There will be additional fees if you require a procedure such as colposcopy. There will also be a charge for any Telehealth consultations you have with Dr Burnet. There is a Medicare rebate available on each of these items. Our friendly staff will advise you of what fees and rebates to expect when you are scheduling an appointment.
